The valley of Kashmir has forever been known as heaven on earth for the people of Pakistan, however the local people of this blessed region remain deprived of the basic healthcare facilities till this day. Medical facilities are virtually non-existent and the residents must travel for hours to reach hospitals in Rawalpindi or Islamabad for consultations and treatments. This situation has resulted in numerous untimely deaths in emergencies, where quick medical attention was required by the patients.
Based on the given circumstances, Pak Gulf Construction Private Limited, has chosen Rawlakot in Azad Kashmir to be the site of its latest corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The group is engaged in constructing a modern medical and healthcare facility to be known as Umm-e-Ilyas Hospital. The charitable project will comprise of a 200-bed hospital, fully equipped and designed to meet all international standards. During the first phase, an initial facility of 50 beds is under development and subsequently it would expand by another 150 beds during phase 2.
